I am a seed

I promise I can grow tall

I wonder about the world above

I sprout and the world is bright

Green in every direction, flowers of every color

Around me are towering trees

Soil is soft, soil gives me life

The skies water me and I rejoice

Beams of light give me hope

I am big now

My leaves a striking emerald green

My bark is strong and mighty

Fungi comes to me and steals

Insects nip and bite at me

I let them stay on me, I pity them

I do not grow

I love the moss and the dandelions

They say I am too tall now they want me to shrink

I get distracted

I do not grow

The winds whip at my branches

The weeks go by dry

I remember my strength and tenacity

I look down and I let sun beams through my arms
