I Am Not Entertainment

I am not your harlequin

And you are not my king

You are not the wind beneath my wings

No, you are not even worth a glimpse

Now let me clarify

I know you hold worth

I know you are a spirit of beautiful emotion

But I am not entertainment

I am not a dancing fool

I am not a dog you call upon

So when your heart is frail

And your eyes are heavy

And your mind is hazy

And you wish for smiles and distractions

Do not call my name

You would not do much for my glory

To bend to you would be a tragedy

To dim my light so you can gaze upon me is a stupidity

I am not entertainment

I am human

Just like you

Treat me like one
