Refractions

When your light strikes me, I refract

Like glass, I bend the gift you have given me

I choose to make your gift my own

And soon, the many lights strike me too

The fire in their souls, I redirect

I use their passion as my own

The many before me have given me what they once held

It is my nature to be a refraction of those before and around me

Never a reflection, as I intend to hold my individuality

But a refraction, a conversion of what I see

All that is passes through me

And I am the glass that bends these elements as I please

Through my process, I create my own world

Through my process, I shape myself into what I desire to be

And if I ever catch your eyes

I will decide if what you hold is bright

Admiring a new source, a new light

And overtime, I will refract what I behold
