I found a garden where snakes slithered by
I took a stroll one day to admire the sunflowers
I saw the trees growing tall and bearing fruit
I saw the rose bushes vividly blooming
But then I looked down at my bare feet
I saw the snake crawl on its belly
A smile so wide and so sly
I kept on walking by and he hissed and he begged
So playfully twirling and dancing around my leg
But I kept my gaze on the sunflowers ahead
I walked steadily on and did not stray off the path
Then the snake called his kin
They flashed their scales, reflecting sun rays
Glassy and shiny, tempting if I may say
I starting kneeling down but I saw something strange
The closer I brought my face to the ground, the wider their mouths
The snakes kept their glare on my lips
Begging to give a venomous kiss
In my fear I quickly stood up
Remember to say to yourself
Don't play with the snakes in the garden
The fruit they bare is not one that nourishes
